Long sleeves in summer. Skipping the pool party. Funny looks from strangers.
People with psoriasis endure a lot, even aside from the physical pain. And while hard for adults to bear, it is often even more challenging for children with psoriasis. The stigma can be ferocious, and treatment options are more limited. But by participating in Psoriasis Cure Now’s 2008 Short Sleeve Days, on September 12th-14th, you will be part of an innovative strategy to change that.
This Short Sleeve Days Campaign for Children's Programs is for people who believe more resources should be directed to advocating on behalf of children with psoriasis...the often fogotten patients living with a disease typically portrayed as a disease of adults. All donations received through this Event will be used to expand Psoriasis Cure Now's research, education and advocacy programs related to children with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
On September 12-14, 2008, we are asking every person with psoriasis across the country to expose their psoriasis and go out into the world. We are also asking every person who cares about someone with psoriasis to join us. We will wear the official Short Sleeve Days T-shirt [note: we can no longer guarantee t-shirt delivery in time for Short Sleeve Days] and invite people to ask us about psoriasis. We'll also distribute Psoriasis Info Cards (provided to all registrants) to dispel myths while telling the truth about the seriousness of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. This powerful collective action will empower us and educate the public. It will also serve as inspiration to the many people with psoriasis whose psoriasis has them in hiding, socially isolated.
Please register TODAY to join us. Together, we will help the hundreds of thousands of children with psoriasis (and millions of adults, too).
